Die Harke und der Spaten should be seen as a musical stageplay with 8 scenes, for one singer/speaker and a musical ensemble. In their different positions, the tools used in the performance serve as the starting point for the scene. In part, they also give rise to the vocal material - a kind of "Love life of garden tools". A fusion of the optical-scenic and the musically composed-improvised.
